Wael is a Computer Engineer, serial entrepreneur, and Y Combinator alum who has co-founded numerous startups in Silicon Valley and the Middle East. He was one of the early employees of Careem and part of their Executive Leadership team, having held the roles of Global VP of Product Management, Co-Head of the Ride-Hailing Business Unit, and VP of the Platform SuperApp Business Unit carrying through Uber's acquisition of Careem for $3.1Bn (11.6Bn SAR). Wael is a tech innovator at heart who has built technology products used by tens of millions of users worldwide. He is currently a General Partner at Raed Ventures, a VC firm headquartered in Riyadh, and is focused on investing in early-stage startups in the MENA region. He is passionate about building the region’s tech capacity and fostering entrepreneurship.
